You’ll play a key role in shaping the development of internal business platforms that support customer acquisition, retention, and billing. Working on a cross-functional team, you will take ownership of architectural decisions and lead backend-heavy development in Ruby on Rails, while mentoring other engineers and championing engineering best practices. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and influencing product outcomes at scale.Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and release features for internal business systems, including UX, APIs, and backend integrations
- Lead technical architecture, code quality standards, and performance optimization for business tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build data-driven user experiences that support growth and retention
- Translate business requirements into scalable software workflows and data models
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and technical excellence
- Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and compliant with best practices in fault tolerance and risk management
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the team
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 6+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails development
- Experience with JavaScript and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Strong skills in debugging, systems design, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with integrating third-party business systems like Stripe and Salesforce
- Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines and analytics dashboards is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, mentoring mindset
- Prior experience working remotely with distributed teams is a plus
