In this role, you’ll design and implement scalable data pipelines, work closely with cross-functional teams, and guide other engineers in best practices for data integrity, modeling, and compliance. You’ll play a critical role in transforming complex insurance-related data into clean, actionable insights that power enterprise reporting, decision-making, and compliance. - Design and develop end-to-end data solutions within a modern lakehouse architecture (Databricks)
- Lead data modeling for complex insurance data: claims, policies, pricing, risk, and renewals
- Collaborate with product, engineering, BI, and business stakeholders on cross-functional data projects
- Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, GLBA)
- Mentor data engineers, review code and architecture, and champion documentation practices
- Implement and maintain metadata catalogs, access controls, and audit processes to secure data pipelines
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering with expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud-based lakehouse environments
- Deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline orchestration, and database design
- Proven experience working with insurance or financial services data and designing custom data models
- Ability to lead technical projects while aligning with business objectives and stakeholder needs
- Strong communication and leadership skills, including mentorship and cross-team collaboration
- Experience with data quality, testing standards, and compliance requirements in regulated industries
- Familiarity with tools like Databricks, Airflow, and modern data orchestration frameworks
