One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Desktop Platform in the United States. This role is an opportunity to help shape the future of a widely used desktop application by building and refining core components across macOS, Windows, and Linux. As a senior engineer, you’ll be instrumental in defining the technical architecture that delivers a fast, stable, and delightful experience for millions of users. You'll interface with native system APIs, lead performance initiatives, and guide internal teams on desktop tooling and development practices.Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain critical infrastructure and performance systems for cross-platform desktop applications
- Interface with operating system APIs to enable native functionality on macOS, Windows, and Linux
- Champion code quality and maintainability across the desktop platform
- Troubleshoot complex, high-impact issues using advanced debugging tools and observability frameworks
- Support internal developers by maintaining a robust desktop build environment and tooling ecosystem
- Lead performance optimization efforts to ensure a seamless and efficient user experience
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing large-scale, cross-platform desktop applications
- Deep expertise with Electron, C++, or Rust, and familiarity with platform-specific application development (macOS or Windows)
- Proven ability to debug and optimize performance issues in production environments
- Strong understanding of system observability and experience leveraging monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues
- Experience working within and contributing to large codebases
- Bonus: Familiarity with Objective-C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python; involvement in the Electron open-source community
