As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and implement highly scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that support real-time data streaming and analytics. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring advanced features to production, helping scale infrastructure to support millions of users. - Design and build scalable, high-performance backend services with a focus on availability, fault tolerance, and observability
- Develop and maintain stream processing applications using tools like Kafka and Flink
- Collaborate with data science teams to deploy and integrate ML models in production
- Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation, sanitization, and QA processes
- Optimize backend performance through profiling and system tuning
- Contribute to system architecture and design decisions for backend infrastructure
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend or software engineering roles
- Proficiency in at least one core backend language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript)
- Strong hands-on experience with Kafka, Flink, and AWS
- Solid understanding of building and optimizing real-time stream processing applications
- Experience with system programming and performance optimization
- Proven ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems
- Bonus: experience working with geospatial data or in high-growth startup environments
