As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining integrations across multiple data sources, contributing to a critical platform that supports petabyte-scale workloads.
You’ll work with modern technologies and own new functionalities end-to-end, from backend APIs to customer-facing interfaces. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, technically proficient, and passionate about crafting seamless user experiences while ensuring high system performance and reliability.
Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain backend services and public APIs that power data ingestion and integration for the platform
- Own the full lifecycle of new features from design through deployment, focusing on scalable and maintainable code
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences
- Integrate with technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Elasticsearch, and Iceberg
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and on-call rotations to ensure system robustness and uptime
- Continuously improve backend architecture, performance, and observability
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with significant backend development expertise
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript; familiarity with or willingness to learn Golang
- Strong experience developing APIs and working with cloud-native infrastructure
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, real-time data processing, and service integration
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and drive technical projects
- Experience debugging production issues in high-velocity environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on customer outcomes
