We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to design and build customer-facing Tableau dashboards and reports. This role requires strong technical expertise in Tableau and SQL, as well as the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to capture feedback and refine reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding source data, translating business needs into technical requirements, and delivering actionable insights through data visualization.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dashboard Development & Integration: Design interactive Tableau dashboards and work with the web development team to embed them into Java-based web portals using Tableau’s APIs
- Collaboration with Product Team: Regularly meet with Product team to gather feedback, understand their business requirements, and refine reporting solutions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze source data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform report design.
- SQL: Write efficient SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and prepare data for visualization in Tableau.
- Data Integration: Gather and process data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs) and ensure its accuracy and consistency.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Tableau dashboards for performance, ensuring seamless user experience.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate technical findings into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of dashboard designs, data models, and processes.
- Training & Support: Provide technical support and training to non-technical stakeholders on using Tableau dashboards effectively.
- Address Ad Hoc Customer Requests: Respond quickly to one-off customer requests that can show up without advanced notice
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Tableau (Desktop, Server, Online) for creating advanced visualizations and dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases and managing data transformations.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and business intelligence principles.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present findings clearly.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in handling large datasets.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with dashboards or data sources effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years of relevant working data analysis experience
- Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders in a consultative capacity
- Familiarity with web development frameworks and Tableau’s embedding APIs
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for advanced data manipulation
- Knowledge of Tableau site administration or architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, or similar) for hosting Tableau Server/Online
